Champions of Midgard

This is an awesome game, love playing it with our kids. Its really fun, fast-paced, and good replayability. Miniature market had it for the best price on the web, i'll definitely shop here again!

This is a battle game with dice. It is a very impressive game for strategy with dice. Unfortunately, the food and wood tokens are just ordinary cubes (give the cost of the game this is a bit unacceptable). The rest of the components are good quality. I have purchased better tokens for this game and the Valhalla Expansion is essential to get the full game experience. This game by itself is not quite complete, with the expansion is is great.

In Champions of Midgard you're an aspiring champion trying to take the place of the recently deceased Jarl. You do this by trying to impress the townsfolk more than the other competitors, primarily by slaying monsters. You'll recruit custom dice representing various types of viking warriors (swordsmen, berserkers, etc.) and sending them out to fight threats. Some of the threats are close by and immediate, but with little reward while others require you to purchase/rent and stock (with food) a longship for a longer journey and much better reward. In short, this game is great fun and a pretty significant improvement over most other worker placement games like Lords of Waterdeep. It's a great blend of American flavor and Euro-ish mechanics, and you probably should just buy it and play it rather than read anything more about it.

A game easy to play and engaging for evryone, the dice aspect of the game adds fun randomness to the game. You will not regret buying this, for me this replaces Lords of waterdeep as my go-to game for newbies if worker placement.
