Great 2 Player Game!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Super easy to learn, and never the same game twice. One of the better easy play games I've picked up.

Amazing game, regardless of what you may think by looking at the theme

Quilting sounds like sooo much fun, huh? Well, this game actually is lots of fun! This 2-player game is challenging, but the rules are simple. It has a tetris-like feel to it and it plays quickly.

Great replayability

This is a great, quick puzzle/strategy game to play. The rules are extremely simple but leave plenty of room to try different tactics. The basic actions you can take are either a) move in front of the other players token and take a number of buttons (money) equal to the distance traveled or b) buy a piece to fit on your quilt board. The key aspects are that each piece has a button cost as well as a movement cost, so you are forced forward on the turn board when you buy a piece (meaning that the game is closer to being over). Also, some pieces have buttons on them that allow you to earn additional 'income', so you need to balance which kinds of pieces you buy and when. I have played numerous back-to-back games and really enjoy the challenge of trying to fill up the entire quilt board and beat out my opponent. This game is definitely worth adding to your collection.

A must have two player game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

My current gaming situation has me always searching for great games that my wife really enjoys, because she is the primary person I game with. What a wonderful surprise we found in Patchwork. Patchwork is a two player game by Uwe Rosenberg (of Agricola fame, among others) with the premise of making a quilt out of various fabric scraps. Its easily apparent that this quilting theme was put in place to make sense of the mechanic of the game, which is a bit Tetris like. Essentially, you use your currency (buttons) to buy various pieces, while trying to build a bit of an engine so you earn more buttons when you pass certain spaces. Each piece will also move you forward a varying number of spaces on a track, and its your turn to buy a piece if you are behind your opponent. Its a great balance between choosing the best fitting pieces, ones that will give income, and pieces that move you forward. For a game thats has a very tacked on theme, my wife loves it. And I do too actually. Its challenging for us both, and we can usually knock out a game in a bit over 30 minutes. We tend to be a bit AP prone, so sometimes our turns can take a bit, so you could potentially play this even quicker! This game fits in a great spot of being fun for my wife and I both, as well as being quick. I never feel like Im settling for a light game, but always come out satisfied. And I make the best quilts you'll ever see.

Best 15 Minutes

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This game is quickly becoming my favorite 2 player filler. Plays quick, easy to teach, but plenty of interesting strategic nuances to keep it fresh. This is a perfect game if you love Tetris or other spatial puzzle games. You don't need to like quilting to really enjoy this little gem.
