Read the story of Maia Strongheart as she fights to ascend to the Sun Throne, then recreate her extraordinary battle!
Proving Grounds has a training game and six different gameplay modules. Once you've learned the basics, add a single module or mix and match to your tastes. If you're feeling truly adventurous, put them all together for a true test of your gladiatorial combat skills!

Tense gladiatorial combat
This is an intense game of gladiatorial combat. You are facing 6 opponents, each one is numbered. Each round you have 1 minute to roll and reroll a fistful of dice to make as many multiples as possible. When the minute is over, you must assign the die results to the numbered opponents. Multiples deal damage to the opponents if you assign the right number of dice, singles allow them to recover or wound you. The dice play makes for a tense push your luck mechanic and the game comes with modules that add extra complications to the gameplay. I highly recommend getting the free phone app, which adds ambient sounds and music to the game and rule reminders. The original printings of the game came with a defect in the opponent cards, which set the opponent's starting status lower than intended. The copy I got from Miniature Market didn't have the defect, but if you do get a defective copy, you should be able to get a replacement from the publisher.
