Nowhere is the Baratheon doctrine of "heavy arms and heavier armor" better represented than with the Champions o f the Stag. These knights don full plate mail and charge into battle atop massive destriers in plate barding. They're among the heaviest cavalry in the War of the Five Kings, capable of bringing overwhelming force anywhere on the field, and then holding that line better than even some front-line units. An intelligent commander will keep them mobile to threaten enemy weak points, but, if needed, Champions can pin an enemy in melee.

Sculpts are amazing and for the price - it's worth it.

Average unit
These models are gorgeous, but I'm not sold on their rules as of yet. They are the only unit in the game (as far as I know) with a 2+ save, so they certainly have staying power. They just don't seem to have the impact and damage potential you would expect from cavalry, Even their attachment doesn't add much value to them and in any game I have used them I basically just throw them against a scary unit and hold it down the whole game. Not that this strategy isn't useful, its just disappointing the only Baratheon Cavalry seemed to be reserved for a line holding role.

Amazing miniatures
These miniatures look absolutely amazing! So glad I bought them. Haven’t actually gotten to play with them yet; but the latest installment in the Baratheon line doesn’t disappoint in the looks department. Seriously considering getting more just to use in my D&D campaign.
