Cartographers Allegro Review
Cartographers Review
Top 5 Solo Games of 2019

Queen Gimnax has ordered the reclamation of the northern lands. As a cartographer in her service, you are sent to map this territory, claiming it for the Kingdom of Nalos. Through official edicts, the queen announces which lands she prizes most, and you will increase your reputation by meeting her demands. But you are not alone in this wilderness. The Dragul contest your claims with their outposts, so you must draw your lines carefully to reduce their influence. Reclaim the greatest share of the queen's desired lands and you will be declared the greatest cartographer in the kingdom.

In Cartographers, players compete to earn the most reputation stars by the time four seasons have passed. Each season, players draw on their map sheets and earn reputation by carrying out the queen's edicts before the season is over. The player with the most reputation stars at the end of winter wins!

Cartographers got me back into the hobby

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I have been kinda bored with the same old of modern board games. However, this game has finally made me excited about the hobby. I bring this out at every get together and it’s always a huge hit.

Great Flip and Write

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

One of the best Flip and Write games out there today. With expansion maps, mini-expansions with new cards, and an online Map generator, the possibilities are endless and will keep things fresh and interesting. I love this game - draw quickly with simple symbols or go all-in with colored pencils and make a super detailed map.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is a very fun game and quick to play right out of the box. My daughter and I sat down to play it shortly after it arrived and were able to start in under 10 minutes and pick it up as we went along. The pace of the game makes it a fun, quick activity we can do together in the evenings or when we have a bit of downtime.

Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

My spouse and I enjoy it, just being able to draw our maps and see what each other comes up with at the end. All the different combinations of scoring cards that can appear for a game make you focus on different aspects. I look forward to being able to play it with friends.

Great value

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Love this game. If you like Tetris or Railroad Ink I'd recommend this game. The theme isn't for everybody but the mechanics are great..

Fun group game to introduce people into engine building mechanics

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I have a group of friends who aren't avid board gamers but we're intrigued when I told them we should get out the colored pencils. Was able to introduce them to the rules and mechanics after learning them myself, but without me teaching, I think this game would be hard to learn directly from the sparse rulebook without prior knowledge. They ended up having a blast and wanted to play again.

Such a beatiful game!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

You can read the instructions in a few minutes and start playing right away. It's so fun to play! You can add some color pencils to the table and enjoy it more. You can play it alone, with 2, 5, 10 people or even 100, if you have lucky! Haha. If you are really crafty enough, maybe you can take that victory and proud to call you a Cartographer. We really can't get enough of this game.

An excellent game.

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Played this solo and multiple sessions with a couple of groups. This has been a hit all the way around with new players and experienced. I do wish there were a larger selection of terrain/shape cards, but between them and the scoring cards replayability is still excellent. The art on the cards is great. The game can slow down if you have more than one person who needs/wants to take the shape card to visualize what it looks like rotated or flipped, but other than that scenario it is quick and the box time is accurate after a play or two.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I played this with some friends and immediately bought my own copy. This is a great game for all skill levels and 3+ players it's been good in pretty sizable groups. Lots of fun wish there was a few more goal to very up replays more.

Excellent Flip-and-Fill Game!

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

My group doesn't do a lot of roll and write type of games, but this one just clicked with us! Definitely our favorite game in this genre!
