Manufacturer: Vallejo

A range of 218 acrylic colors, very highly pigmented, formulated for models and miniatures. Model Color is indicated for all surfaces, and especially formulated to adhere to plastics and polyesters.

The water based formula of Model Color has been specifically developed for adherence on difficult surfaces such as metal and plastic, but the product is not toxic, not flammable, and does not give off noxious fumes. Errors can be corrected immediately with water or alcohol Model Color dries quickly to a matte, even and waterproof finish. Exact drying time depends on the temperature and humidity of the environment, on the surface which has been painted, and on the thickness of the paint layer - although the colors are dry to the touch within minutes, the water content keeps on evaporating, and the paint does not acquire its true permanence until several weeks after application.

Model Color are presented in a 17ml bottle with eyedropper. This packaging prevents the paint from evaporating and drying in the container.

A really good undercoat for Bavarian Blue

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

If you paint historicals and are always struggling to find a color to start with for Bavarian coat colors (WSS, Franco-Prussian War, etc), start with Andrea Blue, go with black ink, then drybrush with sky blue. It looks fantastic for mass troops on the table and is highly recommended. Note: this color is like London Grey - seems to be very hard to get restocked. This is one to purchase as soon as it comes in.

Great blue, but who is Andrea?

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great shade of blue for minitures. For those small scale minis where a darker blue might be a color match - remember a scale factor and lighten it up a bit! But who is the Andrea this is named after...?
