Saloon Tycoon 2nd Edition

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Never playing the 1st edition of Saloon Tycoon. I found the 2nd edition to be easy to learn, to be fast pace with you turns, and have a mid to light level of gaming. I enjoy the fact the while trying to fulfill claims to score point you didn't necessarily have to build the special buildings needed to get certain civilians or outlaws to come into play. You could play cards or even bribe them to come to your saloon. I also like the counter for end game trigger being a built in component for building buildings in the game. There are no rounds it just goes until a certain amount cubes are used in building, based on the player count. Replayability is on the high side for this game dew to the small amount of claims you see in a play through and the large amount of claim cards( both Open and Secret) there are. You could probably play a 4 player game 8-10 times and not play with the same claims card. This is a plus in my book. Over all I found it to be fun and I like the thyme of building a saloon or small western town. On a negative side I do wish there were a few more options on the types of building you could build. Granted the area is not that big but I think a little more variety in the common buildings/ rooms would have added to enjoyment of this game.
