Pandemic: On The Brink Expansion

A must for pandemic lovers. The card backs are a different color and the pawns are differently shaped from the base game which is a little bit disappointing, but the game itself is amazing.

A pleasant change in the game. This expansion doesn't fundamentally change the game, but makes it more interesting and adds more variablity. The seven extra characters are great! There are 4 blank cards included for customizing-2 role cards and 2 event cards, which is really fun. There are also 5 little petri dishes for the different cubes. We have little interest in the bioterrorist module, so haven't tried that.

I got this and In the Lab at the same time. While I like the new roles and mutating disease and virulent strains, none of those really change the game much the way In the Lab does, and the bioterrorist doesn't improve the game as a board game. I bet that having the bio terrorist in an app or video game version of Pandemic would be good, but not in a board game.

Love this game! We have played Pandemic a lot, and it was getting just a bit stale. This expansion makes Pandemic much, much more interesting and varied. Great purchase, and I'd recommend this to anyone!

It has the Virulent Strain Challenge which replaces the standard green infection cards with red infection cards that do everything the green ones do, but each has its own additional affect. One of the new roles is the Bio-terrorist who plays on the side of the game against the other players.

This expansions gives 3 more ways for the world to be destroyed by diseases. From a Virulant Strain where one disease goes epically bad, to a mutation that adds a 5th disease in. Then, you have a possibility of a bio-terrorist. THIS IS MORE DIFFICULT than the base game, but well worth it if you want to change things up now and then. I do not regret getting this expansion at all.
