As intelligent, methodical and resourceful as they are calculative, taciturn and manipulative, the Exiles fill their Spires with schemes that span centuries, and Biomantic creations that range from measly drones to perfect clones and terrifying abominations.

Years have passed since the fabled Battle of Nepenthe in Riismark, when humanity and the Spires waged open war for the first time in centuries. Fredrik, King of Brandengrad and de facto ruler of the whole of Riismark, found himself abandoned by the rest of his peers in the Conclave and his lands besieged on all fronts. To secure one front at least, he acknowledged and honored his family's debt to his enemy: the Alchemist of the Nepenthe Spire. But after pushing back the Nords with the help of the Orders, the Order of the Sword refused to surrender control of the reclaimed lands. Abandoned by the Heartlands, he knows that honoring his dept to the Alchemist for another year would cripple his nation, struggling for resources as they are. So now Fredrik prepares for the Alchemist to claim his payment once more. For he knows well: Nepenthe remembers - until forever.

First Blood How They Play: A warped reflection of how merchant princes typically leverage the battlefield, the Alchemist prefers his enemies indebted to him. His influence grows as the enemy flourishes, as after all, pride goes before a fall. Able to procure a hasty enemy, the Alchemist can turn a moment's impetus into their ultimate demise.

The Last Argument of Kings (TLAOK) How They Play: Sinister diplomat and cunning strategist, the Alchemist makes offers his enemies cannot refuse, never interrupting them as they inevitably follow the path to their own demise. Once the trap is sprung, the full might of the Spires' forces is unleashed upon the unsuspecting enemy, while airship barrages cripple enemy positions. The Alchemist is available for Casual and Narrative play, while in TLAOK Organized Play he can be used as a Merchant Prince.
