A good place to start, as a standalone, or a fun evolution to the Challengers system.

Go for it!
I liked it. I read a lot of reviews from people saying they weren't a fan because they had no control during the actual fights, but I think that's what makes this game fun. The game is more about strategically drafting a good deck and then just having good old dumb fun.

Awesome game for large groups
Like the original Challengers, Beach Cup excels at giving players the feel of a CCG tournament in just over an hour. Whether you're playing alone or with 7 other players, you're in for a great time. And with the improved Dogs, Rainbow Deck, and enhanced Tournament Plan cards, I would recommend this over the original to anone that only wants one version or the other. But I DO advise you to get both for more variety in deck combinations. Worth it.
