Manufacturer: Folded Space

Insert compatible with Wingspan, and the European and Oceania expansions. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The rules and boards act as a lid on top of the trays.

The trays are arranged in up to three layers. Note that the ten wooden dice are stored in the dice tower. The trays work well with the GeekUp plastic food tokens. Note that the insert has space for just one set of five player boards. The remaining set should be stored separately in the Oceania box. Also, there is room for just one scorepad, so if you have others these can also be stored in the expansion box.

The resource and egg trays are doubled to allow them to be placed at both ends of the table for easy reach. The large card tray has space for sleeved cards, and can be placed in the centre of the table accessible by all players.

Each of the trays for food tokens work equally well with the GeekUp plastic tokens available for the game. The additional tray for nectar tokens has been sized to hold the future GeekUp nectar bits.

This product consists of a flat-pack of 4 Evacore sheets. The trays require assembly, which is quick and fun, using ordinary PVA glue.

Insert designed for game with external box dimensions of 29.4 x 29.4 x 7.6 cm.

Game(s) and components are not included.

I was very pleased with this first time purchase. Pieces were easily separated from their board, all pieces fit nicely together, and it was very easy to assemble. The finished result is fantastic - a terrific organizer for our game… making set-up, gameplay and take-down MUCH better!

Wingspan box organizer

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Very easy to punch out, with no tears. Dry assemble and then apply glue, according to the manufacturer's YouTube video, and let dry completely before adding game components. The components and cards fit, although a little snugly with card sleeves. Everything fits in the box perfectly and stays intact even when stored on it's side

Great Value

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I have the original Wingspan game and the Oceania expansion. The box insert from Miniature Market was easy to assemble (you do need to glue them), fits nicely in the original Wingspan box and has plenty of room for more cards (such as the European expansion). The only reason I gave four stars rather than 5 is there is no room for the 3 card tray. Since there was no way for this to fit it would have been nice if Miniature Market included a piece of card stock with outlines for three cards as a substitute that would have fit. Even with that shortfall this is a great value at a third of the price of most other similar products on the market.

A good organizer with a few compromises

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

After assembling the new Folded Space insert for Wingspan, I can say I'm happy with the organizer. It consolidates the base game along with my Oceania expansion (and at some point, European), which should make setup/tear-down faster and more organized. I had no issues with the assembly- all parts punched out and fit as expected. My few negatives for the insert are as follows: *If you include the rule book(s) and appendix, you'll get a very small amount of lid lift (where the box lid doesn't go completely down). This is barely noticeable and not an issue, just worth noting. *With this insert you can't use the Stonemaier clear organizers. On a positive note, I've repurposed these for other games, so that's a win. *You also can't store/use the nice three-card blue organizer for the bird cards that comes with the base game. This is a bigger deal as I've found the three-card blue organizer handy, and the organizer itself doesn't facilitate a way to replicate the functionality of making both drawing and organizing cards on display as easily. Are these negatives a big deal? No. Would they be nice to accommodate? Yep. Should you buy this? If you're looking for a low-cost organizer because you frequently play Wingspan, this should fit the bill (get it?), but if it sees play time infrequently or you want to keep some of the built-in organizers from the base game, you'll want to look for a different/DIY solution.

Patience!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

If you are going to assemble this. You gotta have patience and GOOD GLUE! I dont know what happened to Elmer's glue but that stuff is thin and junk. Get a good craft glue instead. As far as the product is concerned I like it. It fits beautifully.

Works great

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Works great and easy to put together. Don't expect it to fit coin capsules or custom made food tokens. There is no lid lift but I only used it for Wingspan and European expansion.

Great accessory for those like neat boxes

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Clean, well cut and fits all the pieces as advertised, including the first two expansions. Visually appealing for the person who likes everything to have its own little spot. Does not really leave space to include all of the rule books or extra scoring pads though. Definitely requires some glue to keep it together, although the punch is quite tight.

Great insert!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Fits everything, including the wooden bird feeder (dice tower) that I bought as an upgrade. We use all of the inserts in the game as well, to hold the pieces. So easy to set up and put away.

Great for space

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Folded Space inserts have become a must for games with expansions and the Wingspan one is no exception.

The insert is designed well for fitting all of the tokens and cards for the base game and two first expansions. It only holds one set of player boards and the form boxes don’t stay connected all that great when you move them. I’m thinking about glueing them into place.
