Perfect to get the family uncomfortable for the right reasons.
Was a supporter of the Kickstarter but lost that copy in a move, with everything happening in Ukraine I decided this was the perfect game for my family to make them feel and understand the suffering that could be felt during a war like this.

Dark Game
An amazing sad game. His game is very dark but the stories and it is amazing and it makes you really respect what people really went through.

An enriching experience
I picked up this game to play with my wife and two kiddos (12 and 13). Especially with the war in Ukraine in the news, I thought the game could provide some thought-provoking experiences. It's difficult to review the game, as there's so much content, with the Book of Scripts, etc., each play feels unique. We tend to play relatively short sessions, but each one is definitely gritty and generates good discussions. I can feel us all deepening in empathy. It definitely a strange game--not fun in the typical sense. And some will find it too mature for kids. But I think its a very enriching experience.

This War Of Mine
I just began board gaming last fall. The one title I wanted, after much research is This War Of Mine. I would need to wait, as the game required another printing. But, I wanted a narrative game that would be a memorable experience, even if it is a bit depressing. This will be it, as I’m just now learning it, but so far, I’m impressed. The 12 miniatures that come with the game, are of a softer plastic, with a little less detail than resin but they painted up just fine. Other titles are now on the shelf, and will be there for awhile.

A masterpiece in boardgaming art
This is an amazing game and not only does it serve as a strong stratigical survival game but it serves as a story telling device. This war of mine tells many different stories depending on your choices and on what happens in the game but all these stories are inspired by real horrifying events and I believe that this game is import to play because it informs us just how nasty war is and not glorifies it like all the other military shooters and games and shows us what happens to those who can't weld guns and also dives deep into the mind of how damaging it is to hurt some one or see someone hurt. It's a strong game but most of all it carries a strong message with it.

This War of Mine is an eloquently done group of mechanisms oozing with themes and stories.
This War of Mine is an eloquently done group of mechanisms oozing with themes and stories. Every gamer should give this game a try. I have never played the PC version, so I can give no comparisons there, but the board game version is a very interesting and fun experience to partake in. It's a challenging game with twists and turns and decisions! The book of scripts is included which gives you a story book which adds to the narrative of the game. Dreary, dark and usually dank, the stories within may help or hinder your survival chances. Overall, a board game worth your time to explore.
