My Island is a family-friendly, competitive legacy game, which means that your game changes and evolves over time as you play it. After arriving on a mysterious island, you build the first houses, create fields and paths through the rainforest, and advance further and further inland. Each player is in charge of their own island community, striving to create the best island possible.
Over the course of 24 fascinating episodes, players simultaneously place hexagonal tiles on their personal gameboard in order to develop their own unique island and discover its secrets. Three episodes together form a chapter, and for each chapter there is a sealed envelope containing new rules and various materials with which you can change your gameboard again and again.
Following the success of My City, nominated for the 2020 Spiel des Jahres award, this legacy game by renowned author Reiner Knizia offers many innovations and a one-of-a-kind playing experience.

My Island
Simple legacy game that changes as you play. Great game for the price!

Completed Full Campaign with 2 Players
Completed the 24-game legacy campaign 2-player. The game includes additional stickers in the final envelope to reset for a second 2-player playthrough. We liked My City better but still enjoyed this one a lot. Pieces with multiple types of scoring hexes on them make for an interesting variation on My City-style gameplay. Solid flip-and-place (roll-and-write) game.

Solid Sequel
We were big fans of my city and My Island is a solid sequel. We're only partway through the campaign but so far, very well done. Because of the hexes instead of squares, it's impossible to really make detailed plans and each turn is way more reactive than in My City. That said, the chapter changes and catchup mechanics are better balanced in My Island.

Great game!
We loved My City and are loving My island. So much fun! Love that the rounds can be played in about 30 minutes and you never know what is coming next.

I've really enjoyed this game, it's simple and elegant but full of tough and engrossing decisions. And it's an excellent use of the legacy format, giving you 24 individual plays of a game that evolves over time but never gets very complicated since rules are both added and removed. And it includes an eternal version you can continue playing once you're done with the campaign. Highly recommended.
