I purchased this item mostly for the artwork and the ability to immerse myself a bit further in the universe.

Fun Game
A good game with interesting mechanics that are unique with vehicle deployments. Anyone who enjoys deck building and G.I. JOE will really like this game.

Mission-driven deck building
I purchased this and Transformers together, as I fit directly into the nostalgic demographic, having watched these back-to-back after school. This is clearly the superior game (which bugs me, because I only watched this because of kid-inertia). Things this got right: - pressure is kept consistent as your deck gets stronger - strategic moves as missions require specific skills, purchased cards go on top of your deck, and you can pair what's coming with what you acquire - you don't have to choose between purchase and attack - you use your cards for both, which is why it can be so tight - lots of replayability Not so good: - dice rolling swings things too much - there are a lot of little steps to take to start and finish a turn, and a round, leading to game changing mess ups - the rule book is dense and confusing - expect to have the BGG forums open while playing

Very good deck builder while still being unique
Only played one game so far but enjoyed it. It's a little more difficult in learning the rules and the book isn't the greatest on explaining everything. Once you get the turn order down it starts to make sense and is a lot of fun. Challenging but not overly so unless you add the expert cards to make it tougher.

2 Missions and a Ton of Joes
It has a lot of the same styles as other deck-building games but with a few minor differences that have a major impact. The missions you have to defeat have a difficulty threshold that must be met by playing Joes, but unlike other deck builders where you know you succeed by having enough of a certain stat, in this game you roll dice for each stat point, and need successes from those dice so a mission victory is not always guaranteed which adds a nice bit of suspense. Equally, when you assign a Joe to a mission, if it's a group mission, the other players can assign Joes as well, so players don't sit there waiting for their next turn, there's chances to play practically every turn for everybody. Of course the more Joes you play out of turn, the smaller your hand will be when it comes around to you. My one gripe is the lack of storylines. You get two main storylines, each with three chapters, and each chapter with up to five submissions, so you get some variety, but the main three chapters will be the same every time. Difficulty can be escalated. The only other thing, you get six main starting characters to work with, which I'm hoping they put out expansions. All in all, it's a good game that's worth a look for any Joe fan or deck-builder aficionado.

What a fun, nostalgic game!
As a child of the 80's & a HUGE deck builder fan, this ticked all the boxes. While not easy to beat, the Missions are super fun, and plenty of variety to switch it up. Really looking forward to future expansions.

Lots of YouTube reviews and play-throughs out there. I’ve never played a deck builder but I love this game…probably bring an 80s kid the IP means a ton to me. However I love the game play!

Table hog
This is a fun game once I got the rules down. Some questions are not that clear but can be answered by looking on board game geek. Love the randomness the dice bring. My only gripe about the game is that it's a table hog. But I do enjoy it.
