Surprisingly Good Shading
Easy to use, easy to work with, and quite satisfying for fast shading on most miniatures! It is extraordinarily helpful when painting large numbers of troops to give them that little something extra!

Big difference
I suck at shading on my own and this makes the minis look soooo much better after a base coat

Works great when not used as advertised
The method of dipping the miniature in the quickshade itself results in a ton of thick liquid that obscures most of the details of the miniature. The instructions say to “flick†off the excess, but no amount or force of shaking did any good. Works a lot better when painting with a brush, but defeats the whole “quick†part of “Quickshade.â€Â

Too Satin and Beyond!!! (this product has a gloss finish did not see it mentioned in the description)
The first thing you need to known about this product is its glossy finish. I don't believe its stated on the Can or product description. Army Painter recommends using their spray anti-shine after drying. I use and recommend this product on Miniature Board games 50 pieces+ and especially Kick Starters. Why? It's in the name Army painter. AP product line's market niche is a series of products great for turning out masses of good quality miniatures quickly. Just do a simple, even sloppy base coat, BRUSH do not dip! the miniature. GAME PLAY: Durable, nigh-invulnerable level protection for miniatures. Great for pieces handled roughly in demo's or thrown in a game box. QUALITY: This product quickly gives good results. Strong Tone is a dark brown with the most usability of all the shades. It does not require to be cut with mineral spirits like poly-shades from the hardware store which means color and quality will always be consistent. PRICE: At $30 MSRP the price is frankly absurd. A can of shaded polyurethane is less than 7 dollars, Mineral spirits to cut it with are about $4. This product is sold at a heavy Hobbyist/Enthusiast premium. VALUE: The value of this product varies by how much work you have to do and the available time to do it. This product is great for games like Zombicide, Dungeon Saga, or a KickStarter where you receive over a 100 minis at once. All you need to do is base coat and QuickShade will shade and seal all in one. It's very quick when batch painting, and requires no mixing. TIPS: This is an oil based product and behaves differently than an acrylic based wash. It cures evenly in recesses, so pools actually dry darker rather than unevenly. I recommend brushing on, with a cheap disposable synthetic brush. They can be cleaned right away with water an dish-soap but a lot of people just trash them. I try to brush the shade off of the high areas into the recesses. *I normally only use this product on single piece miniatures as glue (super glue in my experience) makes it turn opaque and bubble (when doing repairs). *There is a strong unpleasant odor when applying and curing. Which along with it being rough on brushes is another reason to queue up your work before breaking out this product. If you are sealing five minis at a time every night the fumes will drive your loved ones nuts.

Better off using the 18ml droppers
I've tried these several times now. I've come to the conclusion that you are better off just doing a control wash with just about anything thing else. These stuff is just too messy to work with. I would not recommend dipping, it's better to brush it on, and even then it just takes too much time and effort to deal with it. It's so thick and not very forgiving to work with. I recommend the Army Painter 18ml dropper bottles of the same shades. They work much better, easier to work with, dry faster and give you the same end result with much less fuss.

Great for beginner painters or those with less time
Army Painter's Quick Shade dips are great for beginners or people who don't have much interest in painting, but still want quality miniatures. Following the Army Painter system of painting is very simple, and produces reasonably good quality miniatures for the amount of work required. Army Painter Strong Tone is a dark brown color nearly identical to the old GW Devlin Mud wash, which is of course a very good thing. While I do not personally use dips, I do recommend this to people who want good tabletop quality miniatures, but don't have the time or drive to paint at a higher level.
