Army Painter Rangefinder defective

Average rating of 2 out of 5 stars

I really wanted to like this tape measure: PROS: Fits in hand comfortably. The 3m length is good for most tabletop miniature games. The 15mm wide metal tape is ruled in metric and English. CONS: The tape stop broke after three uses; very poor manufacture. Metric/English tapes are hard to find, so you may want to try your luck on this tape.

Just buy a regular tape measure

Average rating of 2 out of 5 stars

Not much to say other than a regular tape measure would probably suit you better than this. If you want an army painter branded tape measure then get it, but I prefer the free one I got from Harbor freight. Similar build quality, but was free.

Perfect for wargaming.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Perfect size for gaming. Why use a standard carpenters tape measure when it's big, heavy and bulky? Get this. You won't go wrong.

Pretty good but would choose something else

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Works fine but there are some small underlying issues. It has two buttons and a slider that you push to stop the tape measure from retracting and I thought it was one of those rangefinders that stop the tape once you pulled it. The button on the right side prevents the tape measure from retracting but it slips every once in a while which may be partly due to its cosmetic damage. The bottom button acts as both a stop and a release for the slider but only works if the slider is about halfway in and even so it won't grip well. I think if I had to choose one, I would choose the Game Plus Products Tape Measure for $2.99 over this $6.49 tape measure just because that one stops the tape measure automatically once you pull it, however, it got a strong factory smell to it. But if you don't mind not having that feature this is also a good product.
