Good Expansion But Disappointing Ending To the White Cycle
I liked this expansion for the most part. The temporal imprint mechanic and ability to change characters that you needed for certain cards and scenario events at specific locations was creative. For the most part, the story of this expansion was good. SPOILER ALERT: the story doesn't concern the overall arching story of other time traveling groups like the Syaans or the Elois, the story stand alone on it's open. While I enjoyed this expansion, it was also a huge let down. Madame is the last game in the white Cycle. Without trying to give too much away, the game does not conclude or advance the overarching story. SPOILER ALERT: Instead, the game ends with the destruction of the time agency and is a transition to the blue cycle. It's as if the authors of the game we're building anticipation and backstory but didn't contemplate the ending. They created anticipation and questions but instead of completing the story and answering the questions and mystery, they never answered any questions and just ended it. One of the reasons I liked to play time stories was to find out more about the overarching story. But this ending leaves a very unsatisfactory taste in my mouth. If the authors can't complete stories with a satisfactory ending, why would I want to continue playing this game with the blue cycle when apparently the blue cycle will not have this overarching story. I also have problems with their companion internet site thetimeagency.net which appears to have issues n the US. It's not very user friendly. While I liked the game itself, the ending makes me question whether I will continue to play time stories.
