Onitama: Light & Shadow Expansion

This expansion hides what is happening from your opponent and likewise their actions are hidden from you. Game components are as good as ever and the gameplay seems to be faster as a result of the unknown location of your opponents and your own ninjas leading to a sudden death outcome more often than not.

This Ninja expansion adds a new level of complexity but not too much to slow the game down

This was a very different game when compared to the previous expansions. But the shift from a strategy game to a hidden movement one doesn't really work. This expansion is different enough to be noted, just not enough to be desired.

Onitama is a great small game that plays quickly but offers so much strategy and puzzli-ness since your opponent is another person and not a game. So how about adding more variability and abilities to the game, this expansion does that. You'll really enjoy this expansion

I like the base game, it's so simple and quick and easy to learn. This expansion doesn't add too much to it but you can enjoy the game with it or without it. You're going to use some ninjas to move around on a secret board that the other player doesn't see, then they can do attacks. It might be a pain for some to see those ninjas sneak in and attack, but it goes both ways so sometimes it can grant that edge you need.
