While the book certainly isn't perfect, I do not regret this purchase at all. The system is exactly what I was looking for. If you need a very flexible and robust game system that doesn't lock players into tired old architypes, a system that supports building your own game, setting, and PCs/NPCs completely from the ground up, then this is probably what you're want to grab. You'll really have to put the work in to make the most of it but the freedom Basic Roleplaying provides you is worth the effort in my opinnion. Some cons with the books are that some font choices are questionable. Tables in particular are not the easiest to read. And I have been struggling to find any sort of errata, even though I know there are some errors in the book.
