Absolutely
I had NOT heard of this game. I saw it on the games catalog for Bezier Games, did some research and every reviewer was giving it a 2-thumbs up. I was convinced this was a game I wanted to add to my collection. And boy is this good. The mix of worker placement with polyomino, and how 'take that' can really make the game interesting sold me. On my first game, I lost to my spouse (and lost badly). You have to be really strategic, not miss an opportunity, and pay attention. Those of us that like fast turns, will be sorry you didn't slow down and really pay attention to the movies. This game benefits those with AP, once you figured out every move you will take including bonus moves, you can score a lot of points. This is a really good game I will play ANYTIME. Setup is not bad, I have everything in individual bags and it's ready to go in 5-10 minutes. I highly HIGHLY recommend it.

Good but slightly complicated
Great game. Good mix of area control/worker placement/engine builder. Iconography is a little rough and can get tedious looking what each object does.

A medium weight tile-game with simple rules. Good for family and gamers. Board colors dont jump out at you but Im a euro guy so who cars. Love the theme involving water level rising and workers drowning (lose points) which players can influence.

What a hidden gem!
My wife & I had a chance to play this game at Dice Tower West 2022. When this game first came out (2017?), we didn’t think it was for us. We were wrong! What a delightfully fun and thought provoking game this is. The other two players (in our gameplay) felt the same way as we did, in the fact that there’s a whole lot more to Whistle Mountain than belies the simple whimsical box cover or title. The longer we played the more everyone at the table was impressed by how strategic the gameplay was (there are a lot of decisions to be made each turn) , and the proportional amount of fun everyone was having (especially the meeple scramble associated with the rising water level), as each player took their turn! The rule book was nicely done and had plenty of examples. The components are nicely done, as are the thick cardboard pieces. For us, this is a fun worker placement/engine building game that has great replay-ability and is a keeper for us!

Good buy
Really solid worker placement game with shared tile laying. Very clever. One of the better Bezier games out there IMO.

Worker engine builder
Good combination of worker placement and engine building, with a twist of saving workers from drowning. Highly recommend.

Amazing game
Theme is a little bit weird, but this is a great take on worker placement mechanics!. Happy I got it before it ran out of stock, it is unique and with huge replay value.

Interesting Worker Placement/Tile Placement Game
A medium-weight game with a lot of interesting decisions! Rulebook is great, components are beautiful and chunky, and there seems to be a lot of replay value . There are a LOT of components - so be ready for a longer set up/take down of the game.

This game is the real deal
Picked this up along with Luke Laurie’s other great game Manhattan Project: Energy Empire. Both games did not disappoint! However, Whistle Mountain stole my heart right away mainly due to the incredible amount of variance and replayabilty right out of the base game box. The theme is absurd though very charming and the mechanics are sort of a kitchen sink mash up that has no business working as a cohesive whole... and yet totally does! This has definitely become a favorite of mine and y’all should seriously consider giving it a go.
