BattleTech: Tamar Rising

This book offer a great jumping off point for the IlClan. Offers some great campaign options for a variety of factions, including the struggling Clan Falcon whose ruling cast has vanished.

Have to say I loved this book. It has been a while since there has been a true sourcebook on a topic (the last, I think was the FedCom Civil War). Most of the recent sourcebooks have been from a point of view (the whole Jihad series was in real-time, IlClan from a Watch officer). This was more of a history/textbook. I like this type of sourcebook very much. It truly does set up a sandbox for all Battletech players to enjoy. In the end, it is highly recommended for any Battletech player.

After spending the better part of 2 decades in the Dark Age timeline, we finally move forward into the iLclan era with Tamar Rising. A cool setup as the former Jade Falcon occupation zone has fallen silent and now many powers race to claim or reclaim this territory. With campaign info and data on all active parties, this is a new era where the once-mighty houses compete with newer and much smaller nations, each seeing to claim a new from the empty space. Lol, that's the sales pitch, but the book is great! It's detailed, with new art, and a lot of info! It's the first BT historical book I purchased as it was happening and I highly recommend it!

This book deals with the fallout of the events in the Il-Clan source book. It deals with the aftermath of Clan Jade Falcon drive to Terra and the power vacuum which came with their defeat. The Commonwealth splinters even more. This book creates a great setting for a campaign as Mercs are being recruited by all factions. The book has everything you need to run a campaign in this area. The art is is better than in the Il-Clan book. It also comes with a Map with everything you need for a campaign in this area in 3152.
