Manufacturer: Cool Mini or Not

The ritual is nearly complete.
The Unspeakable Old Ones will enter our world.
You can't stop it. You have to destroy them.

An ancient apocalyptic cult has nearly summoned a Great Old One into our world. Its devastating arrival is imminent! Now What?

Cthulhu: Death May Die is an action-packed cooperative board game for 1-5 players. To defeat the Eldritch horrors from out of space and time, you must embrace madness and work together.

You'll need to uncover and solve the mysteries of up to six different episodic stories, using your unique combination of skills and insanities, fighting a wide array of terrible monsters from across the Mythos. Then you must disrupt the ritual just long enough to make the Elder One vulnerable...and kill it. Dead.

It's probably a one-way trip, but you're up for it. Right?

Cthulhu: Death May Die

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Love all Lovecraft inspired games, but this one really does a great job of catching the atmosphere at the table. Beautiful miniatures, and the story line is definitely replayable. Just enough components. Many games seem to bury you in parts and items, and those games have their place. But this is a game I would be happy to bring to a game night with all brand new people. Looking forward to the expansions!

I own a couple of Cthulhu mythos-based games and I would say that Death May Die has become my new personal favorite in the genre. The box is neatly packed and all minis fit into their respective areas. Each Elder One has its box, which for the base game is Cthulhu and Hastur. The only thing that doesn't have a designated space is the map tiles. So at the moment they are currently just rattling around in the box, and they are of varying sizes, so it might require a large zip bag to hold them. Rules wise it takes a bit of getting used to but as soon as you get into the flow of the game, it's fairly simple to gameplay. Speaking of gameplay, it can be a bit difficult. I have played through the first episode and one of the mechanics of that episode is fire. While I was fighting efficiently it was a little difficult to deal with fire and it caused a lot of problems, but it was INCREDIBLY fun to play. I would highly recommend this game if you're into the Cthulhu mythos and enjoy being able to punch cultists and Elder Ones in the face, instead of trying to avoid them. P.S. This game and its expansions are kind of hard to find (as of writing this), so just be aware of that fact.

Fantastic coop, and I don't even like coops

It looks a lot more complicated than it is. Once we started playing it was intuitive and has a great pace. I think veterans and noobs would both enjoy this one. We thought we were winning our first game, but apparently we were just going insane.

Great miniatures, pretty good board game

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Primarily, I purchased this game for the incredible miniatures and I’m not disappointed! They’re truly impressive and paint-worthy. The game itself is proving to be a bit high on difficulty, but I can see new strategies develop as you play through the scenes, and learn more about each investigator’s strengths and weaknesses. If you’re a fan of miniature painting and the Cthulhu mythos, it’s a strong 5. If you’re just interested in a satisfying board game, closer to a 3, so that’s my reasoning for a 4 out of 5.

Not your father's dungeon crawler

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Where to start with this game...The theme is excellent, the miniatures are quality and terrifying, and the gameplay is tense from start to finish. There's an ever-increasing sense of dread as the game progresses, thinking this will be the turn that you lose until your team somehow manages to pull off the win. You're in a race against the clock and have a limited number of turns to defeat the elder one before the game's over. The gameplay is simple, but not simple enough that it feels like one player could run everyone's characters (i mean it can totally be done, but this game just works great as a co-op). Each turn is a collaboration about how your move fits in with the overall gameplan. The dice mitigation system (stress) is fantastic, and rewards you for not completing draining it all in the form of favorable options when it comes to getting item upgrades (and avoiding negative options). The unique player characters all have amazing (sometimes absurd/humorous) backstories and I recommend reading out loud your character's flavor text before starting the game. They all have 1 unique power track and 2 other generic power tracks that can be 2 of several different powers. The catch is you cannot max out everything so each game will be different depending on your team composition. Combat feels great, the turns are quick, and the tension makes the game an absolute blast. 5/5.

Great Co-Op Dice Chucker

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

My collection is mostly Euros and I usually steer clear of games with fancy miniatures, but this one caught my eye. I'm glad it did. Simple gameplay. Ton of fun powering up your characters. Every game has come down to the last few turns. One of the most exciting and fun games in my collection.

Great Game!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I love this game solo or w others. Premise is pretty straight forward and it scales well w player count. Only negative is I want more. There is plenty of content and replayability but know what I'm missing not having more investigators from a TTS play through w all add-ons. I wish season 2 and the unspeakable box were more readily available

So much Ameritrash fun!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I love this system. I have never been a bug Cthuhlu fan but this game...I don't know what to say, it's just a lot of tense fun. I have played it with 4 both times and it seems like a good number. If you like the Lovecraftian lore, you must get this one.

Excelent Lovecraftian game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

If you are a Lovecraft fan, it's your game. If you don't know Lovecraft but you love immersive games? Also your game, but go and read Lovecraft anyway. Love the miniatures, and the stile of the game.
