Fangs & Talons #44 Young Red Dragon (R)

I was expecting this mini to be on the level of the Young Blue Dragon from the same set and the Young Adult White Dragon from Icewind Dale. Sadly, it wasn't. Compared to those two dragons, it barely qualifies as huge-sized and is closer to large-sized. The mini does have good detail and the fire breath is a nice touch, but the wings seem cramped and undersized compared to other dragon miniatures. The price for it wasn't bad, but if I had it to do over, I would've stuck with my old huge-sized Red Dragon mini manufactured by Wizards of the Coast back in the day and avoided buying this particular mini.

This gorgeous mini is a great young red dragon. There is a circle inside the clear base indicating the boundary between the large portion of its huge base. It is a 3 inch base to maintain a steady balance on the table, but characters can walk on top of that base up to the edge of the inner circle. It is significantly larger than the red dragon from Tyranny of dragons which is on a large base. I suppose if you wanted to, you could call that one a young dragon and this one an adult and the adult one ancient if you went by the actual base size. Up to you.
