Biblios, but better?
Full disclosure, I LOVE Biblios. So B:Q&P was sitting under a big shadow. However, I am happy to say it did an excellent job of feeling like the original while still offering a unique game play. I enjoy many roll and write titles, but B:Q&P is definitely a top tier game. Just like in Biblios, you are still working to collect icons, but it takes on more of a race aspect - you want to be the first to gain icons in each category. Also just like in Biblios, part of the strategy is knowing which icons to go after as the die-scoring mechanic remains. B:Q&P also retains the two phase framing of Biblios, though here you are rolling to gain influence in phase one, then bidding with the accumulated influence in phase two. It's quite fun, and to see bidding in a roll & write was quite novel. Many at the table said they enjoyed B:Q&P MORE than Biblios. For me, it's a tough comparison. The original will always be a classic, but B:Q&P will never be far from the table.

Great with 2 +
Would be best at 2+ players. 3 would be the best. 2 would be fine as well, with the third player automa, which is easy to manage. I play solo, so I didn't get the bidding aspect. I tried to replicate a two player game and just play to the best of my ability and add in the third automa. That seemed more enjoyable. For solo it could use some tweaks but with this game they will be easy to come up with. If you don't play solo, it is a no brainer, AWESOME, game.
