Modern Naval Battles - Global Warfare is inspired by our original 1989 award winning game and its 2 expansions. "Global War" is a redesigned improvement of the original game. The cards will be beautifully printed with full color on both sides with rounded corners. The box size is 9" x 12" x 2". This new game features ships from 9 different nations: USA, USSR, UK, France, China, Argentina, Taiwan, Norway, and Japan. This gives you the ships you need to play out battles during the Cold War, Falkland Islands War, and Post-2000 naval warfare on the high seas. The MNB - Global Warfare system maximizes player decision making to make every turn exciting. First, you get to select a nation's fleet to command. Then, you get to select your specific ships to build what you think is the best battle group. Once selected, you'll get to battle the fleets selected by the other players for ultimate supremacy of the seas! Game Information: Game Time: Each game can be played in 1 to 2 hours. Fun little card game around modern naval battles. Includes different methods of attacking, (guns, missiles, air assets.

An Update of A Classic
I had the original Modern Naval Battles from back in 1989 when it was published by 3W. This is an update of that classic Cold War game, with modern navies and a nicer format for the cards. The rules have been streamlined and it still plays well. It's a fairly good introduction to naval wargaming for a new player.

Naval Warfare in the 80´s
Simple rules, great replayability. A great cardgame, and the pictures of the ships from the 80´s is a beautiful nostalgia element.

Superb, Fun and Compact
Though a lot of fun to play in two-player mode, Dan Verssen’s little sea-going shoot’em up is even better when player in multi-player mode of you against three or more of your soon-to-be former gaming buds. Though there’s a ship expansion set and a campaign upgrade available for Modern Naval Battles: Global Warfare, it plays just fine all by itself, thank you. I take my copy with me when I travel. For added portability, I’ve ditched the game box and packed my set of MNB:GW cards into an old Chivas Regal cloth bag along with a ‘reduced-print’ set of the rules. Makes for easier packing when traveling, and always draws a crowd when played in airports or on the train.

A fun, lighter wargame.
I've really enjoyed this game so far. It isn't as deep or complicated as many other wargames, but has a great theme and quite fun.
