Why Have You Come to the Valley of Forbidden Churches?
1. Treasure hunting. You've heard the abandoned churches of the valley still contain ancient relics and fabulous treasures. (And a few churches are also entryways into a dungeon.)
2. Excitement and curiousity. Few have trespassed here since the Creton order purged the heretics which once worshipped in this valley. Wouldn't it be exciting to tiptoe where you're not supposed to? What do they not want us to find?
3. To spare something. You know that a titanic demonic worm has chewed out tunnels below the churches. If you don't find someway to stop the worm, it'll eventually threaten those outside the valley.
4. To discover the fantastic. You've head that this region conceals a lost city made of silver. Just imagine! If you could find it, you'd be rich beyond measure.
5. Secret dealings. A Creton crusader has offered to pay you for heretical artifacts retrieved from the valley. Oh, how the pyres will burn!
6. To escape. You're hiding from Creton crusaders who want to brand you as a heretic. But are they wrong to hate you and what you represent?
7. You are haunted. Incessant dreams draw you into the valley. You've seen ancient beings, below the earth, playing a game with glass beads. Your fate is somehow tied to this - you must discover what it means.
8. You are chosen. The voice whispers instructions: to inhabit an empty church. Fortify it. Being a religion. If you please the voice, it promises to send you a congregation.
