Suprisingly Favorite
This ship has come to be my favorite for Armada. Regardless of the list, you will not be disappointed putting this ship (or multiples) into a your fleet.

Must have
The Empire really needed this guy. While the victory class is great, the Empire suffered from a lack of a quicker more agile ship (compared to the victory). This guy fits the bill, and when the raider comes out the Empire will have a great range of options to pick from.

Big punch in a small package
This this is a must have for you Imperial fleet for Star Wars Armada. You can suppliment your large ships in your fleet with this beautiful sculpt from Fantasy Flight. The upgrades included add variety so you might never fly the same assualt fridate twice. This ship is a must have for Imperial players. A smaller point cost helps the Imperials with their few option of ships currently.

Only negative for this ship is the price is a bit high along with the whole Star wars Armada line, but the game play and the finely crafted models are worth the price.

Close-In Broadside Bruiser
This is a must have for any Imp fleet. This ship is a bruiser and lays on the heavy damage fast. With all those black dice, it will rip through anything it comes up across.

It's Achilles's heal, however is that it must be close to take full advantage of this power. Black die are only available at range 1 so plan your maneuvers carefully.

Incredibly Valuable Imperial Ship
Until more expansions arrive, I would argue that the Gladiator is the best all around ship in the game. While it lacks some of the long range capabilities as the Vic-II or the Rebel's Neb B, the Gladiator can drop a whole lot of hurt at short and medium range (very much so at medium range with certain upgrades) and is more nimble than the Vic (certain upgrades, like Engine Techs, can be quite good when combined with titles). Hull is its downfall, as it cannot sustain prolonged rear attacks like the Vic; but, with a faster speed - it may not have to (and you will not be out nearly as many points when you lose one). The Gladiator also has exceptional anti-squadron capability with 2-Blue Dice (although, the Imperial Raider may change the value of this comment). This means that you could run Gladiators (and Vics) without having to run squadrons (or only just a couple). Glads also come with Admiral Screed, who is a much more attractive fleet admiral at 12 fewer points than Tarkin.

The model looks great and the components are exceptional.

A nice pocket destroyer
The Gladiator has the ability to be a bruiser, carrier, or missile boat depending on how you outfit it, and as the cheapest imperial vessel of wave 1 is very useful.

Buy 4 of them! But maybe get some paint.
This ship is currently absolutely essential to most if not all Imperial fleets. The only drawback in my mind is that the paint could have been better. A watered down wash of some dark grey or black is needed to really make the ship pop.

But seriously, you need this ship.

FORWARD CHARGE!!!!
The Gladiator is the epitome of, an Ancient Roman Gladiator. Charging Forward with the speed of a rebel and laying waste to his enemies from the front with epic upgrades and Dice Dealing Destruction!!! I was impressed with the sharp angular lines that are characteristically empire, bringing new tactics to the table, and forcing my opponents to think out side of the box. The Gladiator Class Star Destroyer definitely brought with it a new zeal to the cataclysmic clash of capital ships in the depths of space.
