Complex but not as bad as it looks, get the right people with lots of time to play and it can be a great game to get lost in.

The ultimate 4x epic galactic challenge
Epic game! Quicker to set up and play than earlier editions, this game requires several hours to play and your constant attention to the actions of your adversaries, their racial abilities. Of necessity, your strategy must evolve to newly revealed strategic objectives, and prudent planning is necessary to enable your race to take actions each round. My adult children and I have played the many iterations of TI for many years, and this one is my favorite.

Legendary Space Game
The downside is that it's long. The Discriminating Gamer and Harsh Rules (YouTube Channels) were instrumental in helping me decide on adding TI 4 to my library.

The best space stradegy game out there.
What a great game. There is so much to it. I like the technology research and political agendas. The game pieces are beautifully detailed. I like this game very much.
