Polyurethane varnishes offer great resistance to handling, can applied by brush or with the use of an airbrush and dry very fast. They are used as a final protective coat and can be mixed with the colors to modify their gloss characteristics.

PU Varnish? Not for me
Features / Don't likes 1) Smell 2) thinness requiring multiple coats (could be a con for more control) 3) (2-3 coats is nominally stronger than one coat of the traditional acrylic compatible varnishes from the big companies... in my mild impact testing...)

Want my transfer decals to look amazing
I have plenty of decal transfers to apply and the varnish will help them look their best and protect them.

Varnish for my miniatures
I am finding it hard to beat the quality of Vallejo brand. They seem to be the best option when evaluating price to quality. I would recommend this product for your table top miniatures finish.
