In King of Monster Island, players will play as giant monsters who must work together to defeat a titan-like Boss before it finishes building an interdimensional portal. Each turn, players will roll dice to damage other monsters, heal themselves, gain energy and buy cards, move around the island, activate human support, and increase fame. For the Boss' actions, they are controlled entirely by he game itself. Using the results of the dice rolled into the volcano, the Boss will move, activate their minions, and attack nearby monsters. Their goal: allow their minions to set up the pylons needed to construct the portal. To win, the players must defeat the Boss before they manage to activate the portal or defeat even a single Monster. Otherwise Earth will be demolished!

Great addition to any King of Tokyo fan. Able to play cooperative give a new twist to this franchise.

This is cool
I love this game. It's so fun and looks fantastic. The only thing I wish it had (even as an extra option) would be larger paintable 3D miniatures. That said, this game is a lot of fun and looks really cool sitting out on a table.

Doesn't Seem to Fit Any Style
King of Monster Island is too long and punishing to be as approachable as King of Tokyo/New York, it lacks the narrative hook of other co-op games like Oltree, isn't as visually stunning as something like Ghost Stories or Last Bastion, and is too random due to dice rolling to allow for the strategy of more conventional boss battlers. Wanted to like this, but it doesn't have enough of a clear identity and fun factor for me to pick this over other games.

Great Co-op Monster game with the kids!
King of Monster Island is a great monster battling game to play with the family. My kids love battling with monsters in King of New York and King of Tokyo, but they sometimes get super frustrated and fight when attacking each other, this game solves that. We all get to be monsters battling it out, but we are working together to fight the big bad guy. Same mechanics as the other King of... games, push your luck dice rolls plus card modifiers, trying to knock out the monster. Good stuff.

Great co-op game!
For any fans of king of tokyo or king of New York this is a game for you. You can use any of your previous monsters from any of the base games or expansions. This is a great co-op game in the same line. The volcano in the middle of the board activates the big boss/ minions and you have to work together to get through the challenge or perish trying. A+ game and a great time to spent with friends or family!
