In Cerebria, you play as a Spirit - a powerful entity representing either Bliss or Gloom, the two opposing forces of the Inside World. By invoking and interacting with Emotion cards on the board, your goal is to spread your influence over various areas of Cerebria. When in doubt, let you Aspiration cards and Intentions guide you!

By interacting with the Origin, Cerebria's rotating centerpiece, you may trigger scoring events known as Revelations. If your team successfully completes the goals set by the current Aspiration cards, you may contribute a Fragment to Cerebria's growing identity, built in the middle of the board. Each Fragment in the Identity will be worth points at the end of the game, but you may also score points between Revelations by fulfilling your team's intentions. The game ends when Cerebria's Identity is completed, and the team that contributed most to shaping it wins.

I went back and forth on this one a lot - human brain/emotion themeing usually grates on me (never buy a game too close to your professional life, etc.) but the production quality on this one is high enough that I decided to give it a chance anyway. Mixed bag - they don't nail the theme, but they don't botch it badly enough to detract from a pretty solid design. Heavier than you'd expect for the presentation, though, so can be another tough one to find the right group for.

Another great game from a great company. Might be their most complex title. Not hard to learn imo, but the complexity is very much there

Very fun 2 vs. 2 game.

There aren't many 2 vs. 2 games out there and this is a very intriguing one. I've had a lot of fun playing it.

Steep learning curve but great team-style gameplay!

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Cerebria is a great teamwork game: cooperative competition! It's not the first game along this line, but it IS in the top five of this genre. I recommend it to anyone who's willing to learn a new "language." A very (VERY!) unique game, Cerebria uses pictograms instead of words to describe all its truly unique card and board abilities. Once players become familiar with it, gameplay is pretty quick (about 1.5 hours) to complete a game. However, it takes at least two games to begin gaining familiarity with all the mechanics.
