Kingmaker #18 Stag Lord (U)

It's the Stag Lord, the big boss of Chapter 1 in the Kingmaker Adventure Path. Unless you want to shell out the money on a higher-quality rendition, you're probably forced to buy this if you're a DM running the adventure path and your players appreciate miniatures. By the time they encounter him, the Stag Lord's appearance has been hyped so repeatedly that he'd better be represented accurately. I actually went looking for this the week before my players were going to encounter him. It's a boss and I wanted him to be recognizable. With that said, the level of detail for a boss character is disappointing. There's no attempt to distinguish the details of the stag's helm he wears--if it wasn't for the antlers, it would just be a blob of brown that comprises his head. I don't know if he'd be that useful in any other context either. Maybe as some barbarian warrior? This is really where being able to buy this miniature on the secondary market is a boon, because there's no way I want multiples of this mini. How many bare-chested, stag-helmed fighters do you need in one encounter?

The cloak is windblown, which gives the figure a little bit of imposing size, but I was really hoping for a grander set of antlers on the Stag Lord's helmet and a bit more size for a low-level 'Big Bad' like the Stag Lord in the Pathfinder: Kingmaker adventure path. Still, there is no better mini out there for this particular villain, and it will definitely get some table time in our game.

1.25$ for a fully painted (with textured cape) main boss from a well known campaign is a great deal.
