Great, simple engine builder

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I've only played once, but I am excited to play again. I play a lot of board games and am always looking for ones that offer strategy but are more approachable for my non-gamer friends. This scratches that itch. Simple rules and easy-to-follow play. I originally bought it because of YouTube reviews and suggestions. I'm happy with my choice.

Resourcey Goodness

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

We love resource gathering and this game has the added benefit of deck management, assymetrical powers adorable artwork and a fun variety of cultures. I love how the powers are thematic to the group's included and expansions extend the fun.

Great Game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

The mix of deck building and resource management is done well. Game is easy to lean and the size of your faction deck and common deck make replay not repetitive, at least not yet.

Good game

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I enjoyed playing this game. The solo option had a confusing rule, but in normal play it was great. I was in Slovakia and some friends kept wanting to play it and we had a blast again and again.

Imperial Settlers is an Imperial success!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I bought this game because I was looking for a good worker placement engine builder and had heard good things. I was not disappointed at all. I liked it so much, I since purchased the "Why can't we be friends" expansion and even took the leap and bought my first board game box insert. This is a great game and can't wait to get my hand son the Atlantiens expansion.

A Great Engine Building Game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great game. Everybody takes control of a unique Civilization which plays differently than all the others. You draw cards from a common deck or from your persona; Civ deck. These cards can be used in several different ways. You can use them to build a new location in your civilization, you can use them to make a quick deal, costing less than building but netting you fewer resources in return, or you can destroy the card, removing it from the game, for some quick resources that you might need. You'll send workers to locations you've built to produce resources, use those resources to build more locations or to get victory points, and occasionally attack your opponents civilization, destroying some of their locations. This game plays well with 2, 3 or 4 players and offers a ton of replay-ability.
