Most of the miniatures are of an acceptable paint quality but some are poorly painted and there is no consistency eg one Human Wizard is OK but another Human Wizard has the same coloured hair and face. One Dretch has a pink head another doesn't etc... However there are a couple of exceptions eg the rare beholder stands out with its veined eye and the rares I received are painted OK in my opinion.

The copper dragon rare is missing the clear plastic cylinder that goes between it and the base. One goblin archer has half a bow missing, if it had been broken off and in the pack then I could have glued it on but sadly its missing. This is the second case I have ever bought and the first (Tyranny of dragons) had similar problems with 4 miniatures so although quality control is lacking, in my limited experience it appears to have improved.

I received one of each miniature in the case other than the rares. I received 11 out 15 of the rares and 2 out 5 of the large shadow / medium invisibles. Note: One brick only contained 2 rares the others three bricks contained 3 rares each. As others have already said I was expecting one of each rare and am hugely disappointed. This along with the broken / missing components are the main reason for the low scores.

Being in the UK I made the decision to purchase from America paying the additional transport costs as I didn't think I would be 'gambling' however this has made me very wary of purchasing Wizards Cases in the future.
