This game makes it onto my list of gateway games - you know, games you can use to introduce friends and family to "game night." It's easy to teach, with no real power-gaming or mastery required. So, a veteran player and learner can both have good chances of doing well, and all having fun. It seems to me that most of the games I want to play, or learn these days have a brutal learning curve and the new guy gets crushed with nuanced combos, synergies, or huge rule books and FAQ.... Not so for this one. Played with the right spirit and with some lighthearted competition, this game will give you something to laugh about the next day too. Detail of the components is good, quality is good. There are a lot of pieces, which gives the wrong impression that the game is complicated. The game fits in its own box and stores well, except for the tray to hold the race counters, it's crowded, so I may get a parts sorter to hold those. Rules are well done, and explain it as you go with easy rules look-ups, if ever needed. DoW did well on this one.
