This game is amazing. It is a re-imagining of race for the galaxy with dice. It's streamlined and play really well. I've play 2, 3, and 5 player with it. It works well at all levels, but I'd say it works best with 3 to 5 players. You might ask about the luck factor since dice are involved. I am the dice hate me king and I gotta say that most of the time I don't wind up cursing the dice rolls in this game. I think because you can do so many different things with the dice. I mean sure you can get good and bad rolls, but you get into the mode of making what you have work that you don't really feel too frustrated. For me the bigger stress in the game is trying to figure out which actions the other players are going to pick. If you can figure that out, then you can do really well regardless of what dice you roll.
The component quality is top notch. The card stock for the worlds and development tiles is super thick. The dice are very colorful and clearly marked. The dice come in a plastic bag all mixed together. For many this would be fine, but I personally didn't like it. So I got a small tackle box from Walmart that fit all the dice and victory point bits really neatly. It all still fits in the box too.
If you like dice, buy it. If you like strategy games, buy it. If you like awesome games in general, then buy this.
