Clank 2.0
I’ll start by saying I love Clank! So that definitely influenced my view of this game. The Hunger has an interesting take on deck-building where the more point scoring cards you take, the worse you get at moving through the board. This offers an amazing decision space of how to balance getting points but still ensuring that you can make it to safety before the game ends and you lose all of your points. The art and luck of the draw feel may make or break the game for some. But if you like deck-building and push your luck mechanics you’re in for a great time!

The Hunger
Think about Clank with vampires. Deck builder, Vampires must collect stuff+followers, and get back to safety before the sun comes up Good implementation, you feel the need to hurry up, didn't find the rules that clear though, but designer is very active and responsive to inquiries and questions. Good game overall

Quality!
I did my homework, watched gameplay and reviews, then looked for the best deal which is almost always MM. I was amazed at the quality of the board, components, and artwork within the game. I can't wait to dig into this game with friends.

Solid Game, Poor Rules Set
This game is billed as deck building, but it's really a classic push-your-luck game where you balance adding to your deck to get victory points at the risk of clogging it so much that you are prevented from getting back to the castle (or cemetery at the very least) before you are burned to a cinder. We really enjoyed how tense it is, but, wow, is the manual bad. It could have used at least 2 more pages of rules for better examples and explanations. The layout of the rules was not implemented well. I hope that future editions of this game have a more organized, more detailed rule book, or at least one that is updated and made available for download. The components are nice and the artwork is fantastic. It's a great theme and the art really brings it to life. Also, we love that the deck is large and offers a large variety of villagers and familiars along with vampire powers. Some of the villagers didn't suit our tastes (poor twist on Cyrano), but the deck is so large that those get mitigated pretty well. Overall my wife and I would recommend this one if you like these types of games along with the theme. We want to get in more plays and see what it's like with more than just two players, but if it ends up best at two then we can live with that for the game experience we get.

Great twist on established mechanics
In reading reviews, many said it was similar to Clank, and I worried that the similarity may make one or the other extraneous. That said, I felt that The Hunger had enough uniqueness to make it stand out on its own and both will continue to receive play. Great implementation of the deck-building genre, and I love how your speed is the one resource you use everything: movement, attack, purchase. The round countdown provides a sense of urgency but I never felt like it controlled what I did on each turn. Loved the theme and really appreciated the art style on it. Really well put together game.

The Hunger
My wife really enjoys deck builders that can be played with two players. This title hits the sweet spot with just enough complexity and is great fun.

Great theme art pairing with main Mechanic. Doesn't overstay welcome.
Liked the Theme and art pairing. I never got to play Clank so this will be my Clank and I like the theme better with the vampires trying to get back before daylight anyways. At first, the simpleness of the core design seems like it may have a little too much fiddle with add bonuses and other things in-game but once you play you find that's not really the cause. Not to say it's perfect as it could be a little more streamlined and the rose powers don't seem as important as they should because you may not get to use them for a good while after you collect them but my group had fun and it played in the perfect amount of time for what it is.

Cartoon vampires race for points! But will they make it home with them???
Fun and highly recommended! This game is a deck-building competition of vampires for points  mostly from humans  and then a mad race back to their castle before dawn ends their undead lives. Problem is, the humans they feed on clog their decks and drop their speed, making a return to safety pretty iffy. There is plenty of variety on the board and in the cards to make this game different every time. The Hunger is quite different than Clank! But lovers of Clank! should have a blast with it.
