Excellent deckbuilder game with unique mechanics

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I have owned this game for several years and always enjoy pulling it out to play. I like deckbuilders (Ascension, Star Realms, Dominion), and Brass Empire fills nicely into this arena. It has unique mechanics that distinguish it from other deckbuilders - two central deck pools (Labor and Design) to gain cards from instead of just one, player factions with different ability focus, constructing buildings that persist, and attacking other players to interfere with their progress. The steampunk theme is well done for the most part (though a bit of a stretch to imagine brass having qualities beyond being just a metal). If you like deckbuilders and steampunk, this is a nice game to own.
