Not just that one part from 7 Wonders
I passed on this for several years. I first heard it described as similar to 7 Wonders, but with the focus on the war portion, which put me off of it as I try not to duplicate my games. But I always came back to it, in part because I really like the art, but mostly because it is a well respected game with a well respected solo mode (a big plus for me). My oldest talked me into purchasing it along with it's first expansion earlier this year and I'm glad he did. We have played with 3 and with 2, but not yet with one as my oldest joins in whenever I pull it out, which has been more often than expected. I have only played it with the expansion content included, which I recommend especially for the extra buildings (I haven't tried solo yet). It has played fast and smooth and you can throw an extra round in with two players if desired. I like the extra decision making in the two player drafting mode where you choose one for yourself and one to discard. Not a deep game, but more to it than I had originally thought and passed it over for. We've really enjoyed this one.
