Tuscany: Essential Edition

There is a lot smarter folks writing reviews so believe what is already written. I will add to those reviews that this game also is a great addition if you want the Cooperative World Viticulture game. The back side of that Coop board has a fifth card spot for the Tuscany structure cards. This is a fantastic addition, so yes, not only is Tuscany very good on its own, it is equally good in the Cooperative World Viticulture game. It is worth buying for both purposes. Highly Recommended.

I will include this expansion for every play. The only time I will play the base game is to teach new players. This completes Viticulture.

As the title says, this is a fantastic expansion and the board alone this expansion comes with really justifies the purchase. It tweaks the base game with simple but hugely important changes by allowing you to place workers during spring and fall. The possibilities this opens up are really what makes the game now. I look at the special workers and structures also in the box as icing on the cake to vary up gameplay but I don't necessarily play with them every time. The board though has completely replaced the original board for me.

Excellent improvement to the main game. Don't think I'll play without it.

I am not a completest. I only buy expansions for games I really enjoy to play. I am glad I picked this up. It just further enhances the experience playing the game. I have played it a few times already and can’t wait till it hits the table again.

Tuscany is such a perfect addition to the base game of Viticulture. It adds more depth and choices in just the right areas, and new mechanisms that add even more choices to the game. Very fun!

I always liked Viticulture and never thought I needed an expansion for it. Tuscany has so much content it seems like Viticulture 2.0. If you like Viticulture at all, the name of this expansion is all you need to know; Essential.

I consider Viticulture Essential Edition to be an average worker placement game, however, Tuscany Essential Edition definitely makes it a little better. If you are already happy with Viticulture EE, then Tuscany EE is a sure buy for you. I do like the special workers and extended board. I still want to be able to make more wine, but that's another expansion. ;)

I usually play with just my wife so for 2 players base Viticulture worked rather well. Adding the Tuscany expansion manipulated some of the core mechanics in ways I personally enjoyed but my wife didn't. Overall I feel the Tuscany expansion is a welcome addition for 3+ players but seems to complicate most things without adding much enjoyment for 2 players. I haven't tried the single player.

If you love Viticulture then this expansion is for you! This expansion contains 3 mini expansions that you can add in any combination. First sf the upgraded board. This board expands the original two seasons into a full four seasons. It also includes an expanded and better wake up method where rewards are spread out between the seasons instead of when you place the rooster. The second expansion allows you to train special workers. Each worker has a special ability that adds asymmetric placement for each player. Only two are available each game and a deck of multiple special workers are included so it will vary each game. The third expansion allows asymmetric buildings you can add to your farm. These building give you, and only you, a special worker placement that can help you grow your farm faster. You only have two spots so choose wisely. If anything, this expansion is worth it just for the board as thematically it makes the worker placement make a lot more sense and makes teaching easier.
