My Little Scythe Allegro Review
My Little Scythe Review

My Little Scythe is a competitive, family-friendly game in which each player controls 2 animal miniatures embarking upon an adventure in the Kingdom of Pomme.

In an effort to be the first to earn 4 trophies from 8 possible categories, players take turns choosing to Move, Seek, or Make. These actions will allow players to increase their friendship and pies, power up their actions, complete quests, learn magic spells, deliver gems and apples to Castle Everfree, and perhaps even engage in a pie fight.

Some of My Little Scythe's mechanisms are inspired by the bestselling game, Scythe. It caught the eye of Stonemaier Games as a fan-created print-and-play game in 2017 (it went on to win the BoardGameGeek 2017 award for best print-and-play game).

Kids Love It

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

My wife and I have been playing My Little Scythe with our three sons for several years. The youngest was 6 when we started playing it and he understood the game just fine. Our oldest is nearly 12 and he still enjoys the game. My wife and I also genuinely have fun playing it. I bought this copy for my nephews because I recently played it with them and a couple of my sons and they all had a blast with it.

Intimidating, but so simple to play

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I was so excited to play this with my 7yo, but was a little nervous because it seems like alot when you open it all up. But once we got going, the turns were really quick and simple. Everyone had a blast and it actually didn’t take very long either. It was pretty quick! BEAUTIFUL minis!

The superior version of Scythe.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I've played Scythe several times with friends who love it, but it has never hit that sweet spot for me. My Little Scythe has everything I like about Scythe, with everything I dislike about it stripped away. It plays fast, the teach is a breeze, the aesthetics are right up my alley, it's streamlined, and not bogged down with unnecessary mechanics. Superior to Scythe in every way.

My Little Scythe

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

The production on this is stellar. The minis were so wonderful to paint- I let the kids pick the colors I used for each and suggest details- they look amazing! It's a little light now for my 9 year old, even though they still enjoy it- I think that has a lot to do with it's looks-, but it's still a bit too complex for my 6 year old. Since there's not really any luck, you have to point out the best moves for them while not always taking the best moves for you, until they get the strategy down.

My Little Scythe

My Little Scythe is a great family game for all ages. I honestly play with adults more than anything. This game is very simple but is so much fun. It feels like playing a simple competitive app game, but on the table with real people or solo. Get resources, throw pies, and rush to the kingdom. This game does not disappoint.

Literally the BEST Boardgame to Play with Your Kids!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This game is insanely perfect for a great immersive experience with your kids. It's really our top 1 game here at home and the way you need to do your missions makes perfect sense to the game.

Easy to Learn for 5 and Up; Complex enough to be interesting

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Amazing game. We were overwhelmed at first understanding how the game is played. After a short, five minute YouTube video, we were able to play with our five year old kid. They love it. It’s complex enough that my partner had fun too — and there are rules to make it more complex as families grow up.

Excellent with kids and/or adults

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Picked up at GenCon. Have played games from 2p against my 5 year old daughter to 6p w/ coworkers and haven't had an unfun session yet. I actually think it took the adults longer to learn the rules than my children! The quality and quantity of components, along with built-in storage, painting guide for the miniatures and an included AI opponent make this a STEAL. Longest game I've played was the 6p where I was the only one with any knowledge of rules (and some conversation+drinks added in) and still was only about 45 min played. All told, excellent purchase with no regrets.
