WizKids Deep Cuts Unpainted Minis: W5 Doors

Love these doors! Being able to show open or closed, or no door at all is awesome.

When you need fast and affordable you can't beat Wizkids deep cuts. I bought the doors for fast, solo dungeon crawls because I like the 3D elements added to the game. The only bad element I can identify in these is the industrial primer they use obscures the detail and prevents the working doors from closing all the way. Also, because of the soft material they are made from I doubt it would be a good idea to emerse these in any thing to remove said primer. I haven't tried painting them, but have no doubt they paint up just fine.

Decent doors and easy to paint in sections. My only issue so far is after painted and protected I ended up with some scratch marks where door opens and closes but might not be a big issue or more of an issue for others.

While this looks cool, you will find that the spacing is off; that is, the doors will not open and shut properly. I have spent over four hours filing various places on this assembly and I am still not able to get this to work nicely. I think that the hole spacing on the base is off a bit and this squeezes the stone outer column so that the door will not fit properly. If you do get this, just be prepared to do extensive modeling rework.

Love these arched doorways. The arches can be pulled off the base (they attach with two large pegs that are not glued in), which means you can then remove the door to paint it more easily. The details on the rocks and the wood are very nice, so they will paint up well. Easy enough to put the door back in the hole, then reattach the stones to put it all back together. And if you didn't know ... the door actually swings open. Not quite 90 degrees (more like 75 degrees) but you can show an open versus a closed door easily. Very happy with this purchase. I bought multiples to use in various games. These are great!
