You are cursed with knowledge that the "sleeping masses" cannot bear: that this Evil exists, and that it must be stopped at all costs. You will fend off cultists and terrifying creatures in order to find the clues necessary to ensure those Old Ones do not awaken.

Great combo
If you like Pandemic and like Cthulhu themed games this is one you may love. For me it is the perfect blend of gameplay and theme. It is not just Pandemic with a paint job. The simple mechanics of Pandemic have been altered to support the theme without sacrificing gameplay. The game has a great Lovecraftian feel and is a joy to play.

Move over Pandemic, Cthulhu is in the house.
Don't let the smaller map fool you, this smaller pandemic board can be brutal. The madness dice and the elder gods make the game far more complex, and random. Having a couple of random cultists pop up can pretty easily trigger an old one event. Throw in a couple of evil stirs cards and we escalated to tier three breakouts by the second time around the table. A great twist on a classic game.

Nice game for many levels of play
This is a good game for experienced and novice gamers alike, and also people who aren't even gamers. This is therefore a great game to introduce someone to a fully co-op team play game. The game play is well balanced. Players gain strength and useful artifacts while the extradimensional monsters gain power and cultists throughout the towns involved. It has a real sense of urgency to completing the task of sealing the gates to save humankind - for yet another day. There is not a lot of room for missed opportunities and I think a good play requires a good amount of teamwork and fun cooperation. Solo play is available too, when you play 2 or more characters. Just a few pages of rules that are assisted by examples and a reference cards make it a quick learning curve and not a brain burster.
