In the mid-19th century, the city of Barcelon was the most densely populated city in all of Europe. As expected, life conditions in Old Barcelona were very poor. After old city walls were destroyed, Ildefons Cerdà, who is now considered the inventor of urbanism, presented the plan for the creation of Eixample, the new district that Barcelon so desperately needed. It now falls on you to make his bold design into a better city for its people!
In Barcelona, you will take on the role of builders working on the new expansion to the city. Your main goal is to construct buildings to accommodate the citizens who want to leave the old city, and in the process, you will also build streets, create tram lines, and build public services. You may even decide to explore the Modernism, a new architectural and arts style that been gaining popularity among the rich.

Don't listen to trolls
Don't listed to the Internet Trolls (*even some of the pro reviewers). Is the game great? NO. Is the game Good? Absolutely. I was hesitant for months, until I finally caved in and got it while it's still in stock. I caved after watching a 'How To Play' video. I knew instantly WHY I wanted to play it. YES, lot's of points. Everything scores you points. But that's NOT the 'point' of the game. What 'cascading effect' can you figure out with your actions to 'get the most points on your turn'? The action mechanism is great, love it. If you're opponent suffers from AP, be patient (because you'll be on AP mode too). The art is just wonderful to look at. The game plays in about 90 minutes. But trust me, don't go by the rulebook. WATCH A VIDEO and it'll all make sense. This is a great game, as soon as we were done we wanted to play it again.

This game slaps!
As someone who enjoys a strategic game played tactically, this one just tickled my brain in all the right places. Despite it's length, my group still wanted to start another game at almost midnight!
