Something's afoot. The steward smiles at you like he has a secret, or like he thinks you have a secret, or like you think he thinks you have a secret. The are secret plots brewing, you're sure of it. At the very least, there are yours. A passing servant murmurs, "The eggs are on the plate." You frantically search your codebook for the translation before realizing he means that breakfast is ready. Excellent. Everything is going according to plan.
This is the second edition of Dominion: Intrigue Six cards were replaced and one added compared to the first edition. It no longer has Basic Cards and thus is no longer a stand-alone expansion; to expand to 5-6 players, use Base Cards.

Better introduction to Dominion
Get this and the new Base Cards Expansion to make what I think is a better introduction to Dominion. It makes the game a little more interactive and leads better into future expansions than the base game, which I would get later.

Good First Expansion
A good first expansion to build on the original game. The cards build on and enhance all of the concepts from the original. The only new concept that they give you you is "choices". Some cards let you "Choose two", +1 action, +1 card, or +2 copper (or some other choices similar to that). Others leave it up to your opponent , discard two cards OR gain a curse. As an expansion goes it is good, and builds on concepts from the first game, allowing a great mix of cards from both sets to be utilized.
