My Little Scythe: Pie in the Sky Review

Pie in the Sky begins on the eve of the 3000th Harvest Tournament, where stories are retold of Pomme's ancient animals venturing into distant lands to establish their own kingdoms. To accomplish this, Pomme's founders worked together to build the legendary Airship Kai, imbuing it with the best knowledge from all nine animal species. Sharing the ship's powers and speed, each kingdom established its foundations. But one year, the airship and its Fox and Owl passengers journeyed into the far frontiers and were never seen or heard from again...until now.

Fun... not sure how often we'll add it

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

The original My Little Scythe thrived on simplifying 'Scythe', and making what could be overwhelming, accessible. The Pie in the Sky expansion continues that trend, matched with the 'Airships' expansion for 'Scythe'. It adds one airship and 2 new animal races, all of which are excellently molded. (My daughter loves the owls.) While it is fun, it does add a layer of explanation to a game based on simplification, and the airship bonuses aren't entirely revoutionary. For all it's flying, each player really only used the ship abilities once or twice per game. Not sure how often we'll add the ship itself, but the cost is worth it for the new miniatures alone, in my opinion.

Makes a great game even GREATER

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Normally expansions don't add a lot to the core game, but this isn't the case. Pie in the Sky allows the game to be more dynamic, adding new and interesting stuff to My Little Scythe!
