Speed racing among the stars

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

This fun, filler game is built for speed. It's like the designers took a typical builder and boiled it down to its absolute essence. There are no boring resource cards. Instead, synergies between multiple members of the same faction unlock extra powers. Combat is ridiculously simple -- you just deal damage to your opponent, who either has to have already set up an Outpost to protect them or to use healing Authority cards to recover later. This simple mechanic turns the game into a race to pump out the most damage, which feeds back into a demand to build the most efficient deck possible. It's all very fun and neat, with just enough theme that playing it is really fun, and comes in a neat travel-sized box. My only real complaints is that some of the included solo and co-op scenarios are a little ambiguously worded, requiring a certain amount of googling in order to play correctly, and that the card quality is a little cheap and I'm not sure how well they'll last -- given that this is going to get A LOT of plays.

More ships! More bases! It’s a great addition to the Star Realms family, and the chance to play cooperatively is really cool.

This is the Star Realms you are looking for

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is by far the best deal for an entry point for Star Realms. You get enough starter cards for 4 players, plus it has opponents for solo and cooperative play. If you're on the fence, there is a free phone app that is good for trying the game out.

More in this case is better

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

We enjoy Star Realms and this just makes it all better. Solo mode, team mode, co-op mode and new cards. What's not to like? Great little game for all its fun ways to play, as well as small and packable. If you like deck-building, space themed, short games this one is fun.

Cooperative Star Realms

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I've been playing Star Realms for about 2 years and Frontiers gets to the table more than any other version. Especially the included challenge cards that can be played cooperatively. The Nemesis beast is our favorite. Head to head is fun too, of course. The balance of the game is nice with rules not too complicated but plenty of room for strategy as you get more into it. Highly recommend!

Frontiers

Have only played with two or solo but enjoying that so much! Have not delved into the coop scenarios yet either but loving the refresh on the base game. I have not tried colony wars but I believe this is the copy to go out and get first if you can find it.

Great mini-expansion for Star realms. So basically you can play 1-4 players now. I replaced my cards with the new ones in the expansion. I’m loving the new art. My wife abd I just played one of the solo expansions. Good stuff.

Worth Buying

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I was lucky enough to win a KS copy of Frontiers. I had only ever played Star Realms a few times and thought it was not that bad for a two player game. Since receiving my copy of Frontiers, we have played as a group. I find myself enjoying the game a lot more than I did at two player. This has caused me to dive deep into the game. I do recommend the game to anyone. Just remember, it is cards and they will eventually wear down without sleeves.
