Uprising is the second expansion to the hit Epic Card Game and features some interesting twists on some familiar mechanics, features the amazing art you have come to expect, and introduces our very first alternate win condition card. The Uprising line comes in four non-random 12-card packs (Kark's Edict, Flames of Scarros, Velden's Wrath, Will of Zannos).

With the city of Covenant in the midst of a savage uprising, a dark force is growing in the shadows. Zannos, the Corpse Lord, is using the casualties of the conflict to provide more soldiers for his army of plague zombies. Can the will of Zannos be stopped before it's too late?

Uprising - the second expansion for Epic

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This review is the same one that I will write for all Uprising expansions packs. Following Tyrants, Uprising was the second expansion for Epic Card Game. If you already have Tyrants, I have to recommend that you get Uprising as well. It almost feel like part of the same set, as the characters and the story behind the cards are intimately connected. Regardless, you do not need them and you can see them, if you want, as more cards for Epic. While Epic Card Game core set is very good, I think that the variety given by the expansions make it seem much better. They do not add mechanics - although Loyalty X might be seen as that, triggering effects depending on how many cards of the same alignment you show for Loyalty -, but a nice set of well thought cards. Each of the packs is focused on a character from one of the alignments, just parallel to what was seen in Tyrants: so Velden/Sage, Kark/Good, Scarros/Wild and Zannos/Evil. Those characters are the Loyalty X cards. Ahh actually there IS a new win condition that shows up in Uprising: with Chamberlain Kark, if you manage to get double your initial life points (usually 60), you win the game. It is important to note that you get cards for all the four alignments here; so I'd advise to buy all four packs as a bundle. I really think this is how they should have been sold, but since they are separate, better to buy them all. If you like to play draft, one of each is enough; if you'd like constructed, you'll need three of each for the full constructed format. But I play a casual, unofficial 40-45 constructed format with two copies of each, so two copies of each are enough. If you like Epic, I recommend getting Tyrants as well as Uprising and specially Pantheon - which I think is the best expansion and adds a new format too.
